3 simple tips for better productivity

The weather was bad. I was in a mood. I couldn’t sit still even with all the deadlines coming up. My head was filled with information that kept curling into wires and I couldn’t uncoil them from one another.

Where do I begin to get productive again? Here are 3 simple tips anyone start doing now, if you’re stressed and not ‘productive’.

  1. First things first, you should probably take a breather – even better, if you’re anywhere near a window, open it and get some fresh air. Even better, if you have access to outdoors, get out that door, go for a walk, or a run, or any sort of aerobic exercise would help. In fact, after a day of sitting at a desk, your body will thank you for it.
  2. Clean your space – whether may that be workspace, or home space. Make sure everything’s tidy – people often forego this to save time – however, just like exercise, if the office, like the body, is not in working order, then you’ll likely get nothing done.
  3. Be social, go grab coffee with a friend – recently, I’ve found this to be one of those weird things. While connecting with one’s friends and loved ones on social media is the go-to way these days, seeing someone face to face does wonders. Oh and when you’re at it, don’t forget to hug them (hugging is a stress killer).
