time management: theoretically sound, but in practice?

So apparently this is what I do in my spare time…come up with ideas like how to portion your time for maximum productivity… What if I just ditched my social life for the next couple of days, turn everything off and focused on this? Will my productivity improve? (If I stuck to it, hell yeah!) How stressful would it all be? Well, since for the next two days I’ve set distractions to a minimum, this might turn out to be an interesting experiment.
