Happiness is an action that leads you closer to your goal(s).
Some people might see happiness as indulging themselves to a spa, buying that pair of shoes, or eating that dessert, but then they say, ‘happiness is fleeting, enjoy it while you can.’
In my eyes happiness is more than that.
Happiness has to come from within.
Happiness is something that brings you closer to your longterm goals. Something that moves you in the direction of purpose that by the end of the day you’ll be very happy with yourself. Then the next morning, you’d be doing something else that moves you in the direction of your purpose.
There’s long term happiness and short-term happiness. Delaying gratification tend leads to greater rewards, not only that, you’re also exercising your willpower muscle.
Even if you don’t feel that way immediately, If the action you take causes you to be happy with yourself and the direction that you’re moving. Then, I’d say you did something that would make you happy in the end.
